About WBJEEB:

The government of West Bengal formed the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) in 1962. This board conducts the joint entrance examination for admission to many institutions in West Bengal imparting education in medical, engineering and technological courses.

The board conducts common, combined, competitive entrance examinations for admission to the undergraduate professional and vocational courses in any college or in any university in West Bengal.

WBJEE : 2021-22:

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) Will conduct the common entrance examination for admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering and Technology, pharmacy and architecture in Universities, Government Colleges and self – financed institutions in West Bengal for the session 2021-2022.

The Mode of examination:

The mode of the Common Entrance Examination is offline [OMR based examination].

Exam Subjects:

The candidates will have to appear for two papers in WBJEE – 2021. They are –

  1. Mathematics (Paper – I)
  2. Physics and Chemistry (combined) (Paper -II)

Those candidates who will appear in both the papers (Paper – I and Paper – II) and who will be awarded General Merit Rank (GMR) are eligible for admission in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy courses in all institutions.

Those candidates who will appear only in Paper – II and will get Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) are eligible for admission only in Pharmacy courses (except in Jadavpur University).

Exam Date and Time:

West Bengal of Joint Entrance Examination 2021 will be held once in a year. The tentative date is 11th July 2021. The time schedule for the examination –

Paper – I: Mathematics from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Paper – II: Physics and Chemistry from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This is the tentative date. The date may be changed in extraordinary circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria for WBJEE 2021:

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India.
  • The lower age limit is 17 as on 31.12.2021. The candidate should have been born on or before 31st December, 2003. No upper age limit in appearing in the WBJEE 2021.
  • Only for admission to the degree level Marine engineering course, the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31st December 2021.

Academic Qualification:

  • General Academic Qualifications for admission to engineering / pharmacy courses (as per latest communications from the concerned University. In case of any revision by any university or authority the same will be notified by the board)

Academic Qualifications for admission to engineering courses:

  • The candidate must have passed the “10 + 2” examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of chemistry / biotechnology / Biology syllabus Computer Science / computer application / technical vocational subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks.

  • The candidate must have to obtain at least 45% marks. ( 40% in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC – A and OBC – B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • The candidate must have passed English in “10 + 2” examination with at least 30% marks.
  • The board of the qualifying examination must be recognised by the central government or State Government concerned.

Academic qualifications for admission to Pharmacy courses:

  • The candidate must have passed 10 + 2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks.
  • The candidate must have to obtain at least 45% marks. ( 40% in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC – A and OBC – B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • The candidate must have passed English in the “10 + 2” examination with at least 30% marks.
  • The board of the qualifying examination must be recognised by the central government or State Government concerned. The students possessing 10 + 2 qualification from non-formal and non-class rooms-based schooling such as National Institute of Open Schooling, open school systems of states etc. are not eligible for admission to B. Pharm course.
  • Candidates appearing in the 10 + 2 examination in 2021 may sit in WBJEE – 2021, but he will not be eligible for the allotment of seats for admission if he or she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required minimum eligibility criteria.

Online Application Process:

The mode of application for WBJEE 2021 is online. We have given the online application process step by step. Follow the process carefully.

  • First visit the official website of the board http://wbjeeb.nic.in. Click here to go to Official Website.
  • Then, go to New Registration and click on it.
  • Now enter the details such as address, state, district, pin, email id, mobile number and landline number or alternative mobile number, if any.
  • Then choose password and security question/answer.
  • Now, recheck the registration details, and make changes if necessary.
  • Now click on “Submit” button.

Then you will see an application number on the screen. Write it down carefully. This application number will also be sent to mobile number and email ID of the candidate.

  • You must remember or note down your application number password and security question/answer. If you forget it, you can recover it from ‘Forget Password’ option.
  • If you want to logout you may logout or you can continue to next step to fill up the application form.
  • Now fill up the application form providing your personal information such as domicile, category, PwD status, home district, family income status, religion, nationality etc.
  • Now choose any three zones of examinations in order of your choice and submit the application.
  • Then go to next step for uploading image.
  • Now, upload the scanned images of your recent photograph and signature all in one go.

The format of the photograph and signature is JPG/JPEG.

The storage size of the photograph and signature is 3 kb to 100 kb.

The physical dimension of the photograph is 4 cm × 3 cm.

The physical dimension of signature is 4 cm × 1.5 cm.

Fees Payment Procedure:

[For general candidates exam fee is rupees 700 (seven hundred) and, for SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B candidates, Rs. 500 (Five hundred) + Bank’s service charge. The fee paid is not refundable.]

  • When uploading of the images is completed, you will be directed to fee payment option.
  • You can pay Examination Fee by net banking or debit card or credit card only.
  • On successful completion of payment you will be directed to the option for downloading “Confirmation Page”.
  • Now download the “Confirmation Page” which means the application process is complete.

Download Admit Card:

The admit card for WBJEE 2021 will be available on the notified date. You can download Admit Card on the official website of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. Download the admit card and take a printout of the Admit Card. Keep it carefully. You have to carry the printed hard copy of the admit card to the examination centre.
