Howrah, 12th April: Yesterday, the students of our school arranged a remarkable Tree Plantation Programme in the school-adjoining area on World Environment Day. The senior students of our school selected an empty place and the roadsides to plant the saplings in a well-organized manner. The municipality co-operated with us by supplying the saplings in a large number. To maintain the ecological balance, this programme was organised with a lot of sincerity, seriousness and love. Students from all classes participated in this programme. It was much enthusiastic. Girl students planted saplings, and boys made fence around them and little children of class V watered the plants. Therefore, the representatives of the administration and the officials of the forest department and other dignitaries appreciated our each and every attempt. This programme created a great enthusiasm among all the students and also among guardians and the general public. At the very end of the programme, the students took an oath that they must take much care of the saplings and should not cut trees ruthlessly.
