West Bengal Police Recruitment Board has published a notification regarding the recruitment to the posts of Sub Inspector or Sub Dnspectress (Unarmed Branch) and Sergeant in Kolkata Police 2021.
Eligibility Criteria:
West Bengal police recruitment board has invited applications from the eligible Indian candidates having eligibility criteria for recruitment to the post of Sub Inspector or Sub Inspectress (Unarmed Branch) in Kolkata Police 2021.
The applicant must be above 20 years old and must not be more than 27 years old as on 01.01.2021.
For the candidates belonging to the categories of SC and ST, the upper age limit relaxation is 5 years. For OBC candidates age relaxation is 3 years.
The upper age limit relaxation for the departmental candidates of Kolkata Police only is up to 35 years which shall further be relaxed by 5 years in case of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates and by 3 years in the case of Other Backward Classes candidates.
The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or its equivalent.
The applicant must have knowledge in Bengali in speaking, reading, and writing. This will not be applicable to the persons belonging to to hill subdivisions of Darjeeling and kalimpong districts.
Process of Application:
There are two modes of applying for this exam: Offline and Online modes. The applicants may apply either through offline or online process from 19.07.2021 (00.00 hrs) to 19.08.2021 (5 p.m.)
The last date for receiving offline application is 19.08.2021 (5:00 p.m.)
The Last Date of Depositing Processing Fees:
The last date of deposit of application and or processing fees in respect of only the applicants applying through online mode using Punjab National Bank challan will be 21.08.2021 during the banking hours due to technical reasons.

The selection process will be merit based.
