JBNSTS Scholarship 2019 Senior and Junior:
For Senior Students:
Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search(JBNSTS Scholarship 2019) is always in search of Excellence. It has been working since the very beginning of the institution in 1958. It provides scholarship for senior students. The aim of JBNSTS Scholarship Programme is the development of Creative students of science.
The senior scholarship programme serves to the development of Creative undergraduate students who are studying basic science or engineering or medicine in registered Institutions from the state of West Bengal. This programme aims to the conservation of scientific talent and the Nation’s need for science and technology personnel can be met.
JBNSTS invites Applications for Junior Talent Search Test and Senior Talent Search Test. This scholarship is really one of the prestigious scholarships for the students Basic Science, Engineering and Medical in West Bengal.
Eligibility criteria for the test for JBNSTS Scholarship 2019:
An Indian student who has passed the Higher Secondary or its equivalent examination in the current year.
Student passing H.S. or equivalent examination in Science stream before 2019 is not eligible for this scholarship.
Students passing from pass course and diploma course are not eligible for the scholarship.
He must study B. Sc (Honours), Engineering or Medicine at undergraduate level in any registered institution in West Bengal.
Application for the scholarship:
The authority declares the dates of application and examination after the declaration of higher secondary examination (West Bengal). The application form and the admit card may be downloaded from the website. Besides it may also be got by post or from the office.
Scholarship Test:
There is three phase tests. It involves written test that is first phase, then interview that is second phase and then Scientific Creativity Test that is third and final phase. The results will be declared after every phase of examination.
Benefits given to the awardees:
A scholarship amounting to Rs. 4000 per month is given till MBBS for the students of medicine and till B.E or B.Tech for the students of Engineering.
The Scholars who will be selected from basic science shall be entitled to the DST – INSPIRE scholarship of rupees 80,000 per annum till M.Sc.
The Scholars will get Annual Book Grant of rupees 5000 per annum.

Travel and enrichment programs.
Project Work.
Award for the Best School:
The school from where the maximum number of award is passed their Higher Secondary examination will be declared as the best school. This year Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Narendrapur south 24 Parganas and Burdwan Municipal High School Burdwan have been declared the best school.
The Junior Scholarship:
The junior scholarship program of JBNSTS is working with the objectives to inspire nurture and motivate the talented students so that they can achieve their scientific goals and that they can develop their innovative minds.
So JBNSTS has taken the steps to start a Junior Talent Search Test from 2015 for class 11 Science students of West Bengal.
Eligibility:
The students who have passed class 10th level or equivalent examination with 75% marks in aggregate and have taken admission in class 11 in Science stream with at least three subjects from Physics Chemistry Mathematics Biology Statistics and Computer Science in the year of application for the current year are eligible for the scholarship test.
After the publication of class 10th level Board Examination result, the details about the examination advertised in the leading newspapers and the official website. The interested applicants can download the application form and the admit card from the official website http://www.jbnsts.org.
JBNSTS Scholarship 2019 Test:
There are two phases in the test. The first phase involves the written test and Second or Final phase is interview.
How to Apply for JBNSTS Scholarship 2019 :
Follow the instructions carefully:
- Download the application forms available in the official website http://www.jbnsts.org. Besides, the applicants can get Application Forms by sending the self addressed stamped (rupees 10) envelope to JBNSTS, 1300 Rajdanga Main Road, Kolkata – 700107, West Bengal.
- In case of hard copy application, mention clearly either JTST or STST (as applicable) on the top of the envelope.
- Before filling up the Application Form, read the form very carefully because they will not allow/entertain incomplete applications.
- Candidates can also apply online through the website http://www.jbnsts.org.
- Send the filled in application forms and other documents to JBNSTS office, 1300 Rajdanga Main Road, Kasba, Kolkata 700107 on or before 31st July 2019.
Attach the following documents with the application form-
Three copies Recent passport size photographs. Affix them in the provided space in the application form.
Photocopy or xerox copy of the original marksheet of HS examination or its equivalent exam.
Bank draft of rupees 200 (it is non refundable) payable at Kolkata in favour of Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search examination fee.
Self – addressed envelope with postal stamp of Rupees 10. The size of the envelope will be 20 CM×12 CM.
Proof of 1st year admission (if available).
Last Date for Application:
31st July 2019.
Selection Process:
The Selection Committee will select the shortlisted candidates according to their performance in written test for interview. Then according to the performance in the written test and interview a list of junior Scholars is announced.
Benefits given to the awardees:
This Scholarship gives Rupees 1000 per month for studying in class 11 and 12 (two years).
It also gives Annual Book Grant of rupees 2500.
Exposures to seminars and workshops are designed for the young scholars.
