Mohatma Gandhi gave emphasis on cleanliness. According to him, cleanliness is progress. Clean India Movement started on 2nd October in 2014. It was the birthday of Gandhi. It was a five year programme.It ended on 2nd October in 2019. Towns and villages are
mder this programme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself broomed to encourage people. The BSF also participated in this programme. Prime Minister has requested to all Indian people to take part in this programme. He thought all the people will engage themselves to clean temple, mosque, guruddar.
Social media took great role to inspire people. Personalities like like Sachin Tendulkar, Amir Khan, Salman Khan, Birat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly have taken part in this programme. People need to be consciousness.
Different programmes in schools were taken to make the students conscious. The students cleaned class rooms, library room, urinals to make the surroundings clean. We must remember, “Cleanliness is next to godliness.
