21st NATIONWIDE EDUCATION AND SCHOLARSHIP TEST -2019. Know about the scholarship, Eligibility Criteria, Application Process.

The authority is very proud announcing the 21st season of Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test (NEST Senior) – 2019. It stared its journey in March 2006 and this year completed the glorious journey of 13 years awarding NEST Scholarships to hundreds of students of Science, Engineering and Medical courses over the country.

The Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test (NEST) is conducted every year on the last Sunday of January at the Test Centres in 65 major cities across India. The NEST aims to enkindle the students’ interest in pursuing the right and accurate knowledge. It also helps the students make themselves prepared for competitive examinations like CAT, GET, GRE. TOEFL and many other tests for admissions to higher education in famous institutes and for jobs in famous companies. Only bona fide degree students registered in colleges or universities appearing in their 2019 examinations are eligible for this scholarship. Students of Class XII (12th) (Science) and Diploma Engineering (Final Year) are also eligible for NEST – SENIOR – 1 category.

The students can get instant cash prize of handsome amount and certificates of appreciation as incentives of their good performance in the test.

Follow the Eligibility Criteria of two categories of NEST – SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS mentioned below.

Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test (NEST) – 1

Eligibility:- 

1st and 2nd year Degree Students of Engineering, MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BDS, BCA and BSC (all), Diploma Engg (only Final Year), Class 12th (Science) are eligible for Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test (NEST) – 1.

Amount and No of Scholarships:-

There are 10 or more scholarships of Rs. 35,000/- each with Rs. 75,000/- to Rank No. 1 in this Category*.

Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test (NEST) – 2

Eligibility:- 

3rd and 4th Year Degree students of Engineering, MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BDS, BCS and BSc (only Computer and IT).

Amount and No of Scholarships:-

There are 10 or more scholarships of Rs. 40,000/- each with Rs. 1,00,000/- to Rank No. 1 in this Category*.

* In a Category/Group of minimum 1000+ candidates all over India. Thereafter there is at least one scholarship in every 200 candidates on an average.

Certificates:

Certificates of appreciation will be awarded to all candidates who score 40% and above in aggregate of all the five sections in the test.

Application Process:

Online: Follow the steps accordingly-

Step 1: 

First visit the official website of NEST http//www.nest.net.in/

Step 2:

Then click on the Application Form at the top of the page.

Step 3:

Then select Apply Online.

Step 4:

Then read the instructions very carefully and then click on the Proceed for Registration button at the bottom of the page. Those who have registered already will go to Click Here button.

Step 5: Fill in the form and complete your Registration.

Offline: Follow the steps accordingly-

Step 1:

Visit the link http://www.nest.net.in/application form.htm and download the Application Form.

Step 2: 

Fill up the for correctly and paste your recent passport photo in the given space.

Step 3: 

Send the filled in application form attached with a DD in favour of SEMCI INDIA, payable at Mumbai to the following address–

Participation Fee:

NEST – 1 – Rs. 650/-(Rupees. six hundred and fifty only) and late fee as/if needed.

NEST – 2 – Rs. 750/-(Rupees. seven hundred and fifty only) and late fee as/if needed.

The soft copy of the unsolved question papers of last six years (2006 to 2011) is free now.

The Last Date of Submission of Application Forms is 

30th September of 2018

There is also late fee of Rs. 100/- in October and November, 2018, and late fee Rs. 200/- in December. 2018.

Syllabus:

The content, pattern and style of the test is similar to any other tests of objective like multiple choice questions. Fill-in-the blanks and Yes/No types of questions as, for example, in CET, CAT, GATE, GRE, TOEFL etc. Thus,  any books that prepare you for tgese tests will also help you for NEST. Find relevant study materials yourself to prepare for the test.

The Test is consisted of Four sections:

Section – 1:

Subject:- NEST -1 : Physics and Chemistry (Class XI & XII) – advanced level.

               OR, NEST – 2: Technical Aptitude, Choose any One Group** – A/B/C/D.

No of Questions – 50 (fifty).

Marks – 50 (fifty).

Section – 2:

Subject:- Mathematics or Biology (class xi and xii- advanced level)

No of Questions – 50 (fifty).

Marks – 50 (fifty).

Section – 3:

Subject:- Verbal Aptitude (English language)

No of Questions – 50 (fifty).Marks – 50 (fifty).

Section – 4:

Subject:- Logical thinking (reasoning) and General Knowledge.

No of Questions – 50 (fifty).

Marks – 50 (fifty).

Total time – 02 (two) hrs.
Total Questions – 200
Total marks – 200

NEST – II Candidates must choose any one group from the following-

A- Comp/IT/Elex/Telecom/Elect/Instr.

B- Auto/Aeronaut/Mech/Prod/Bio-Tech.

C- Civil/Cons/Architecture.

D- MBBS/BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BDS.

(If you do not find your subject under any of the above groups, you can decide yourself as to which group is most matching with your subject.)

Some Important Notes:

* There is no need for any attestation, verification and recommendation.

* Do not attach any other documents except DD with the application form.

* Applicants can also form a group of two or more students and draw a single DD of the cumulative amount and send all the applications together in a single envelop to save their time and money.

* Anyone who tops the list in a category cannot apply again in the same category.

* It is prerogative of the college to charge Rs. 25/- per candidate as processing fee for collection and dispatch of application to NEST office if applications are sent through school/college.

** ADMIT CARD will be sent by e-mail only a week before the test, i.e. 22nd January, 2018. 

The Process of Payment of Registration Fees:

The Scholarship authority recommend you to apply and pay registration fee online. You can also send “Demand Draft” in favour of “SEMCI INDIA” payable at Mumbai.

Test Centres:

Test Centres are now available in 65 cities in India- Agra, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Dhanbad, Durgapur, Ernakulam (Kochin), Gangtok, Goa, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hubli, Hyderabad, Indore, Itanagar, Jabalpur, Jaypur, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Kolhapur, Kolkata, Kojhikode, Latur, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Madurai, Mangalore, Meerut, Mumbai, Mysore, Nasik, Nagpur, Nellore, Patna, Pondicherri, Pune, Raipur,  Rajahmundry, Rajkot, Ranchi, Rohtak, Rourkela, Shimla, Shrinagar, Trichy, Trivandrum, Vadodara, Varanasi, Vijaywada, Vishakhapatnam.

Result:

Result will be published and seen in the RESULT menu of the website www.nest.net.in on 5th April, 2019. Candidates can download his score card and Certificate of Appreciation in the last week of June, 2019.
