Ans:

FORMATION OF CLOUDS AND PRECIPITATION INTO RAINDROPS

We all know that clouds are formed in the rainy season and are converted into drops of water which come down as rain. But, many of us do not know the stages through which this transformation takes place. The whole thing passes through a number of stages. First, by the intense heat of the sun water of the sea, lakes and other watery bodies is vaporised and moves upward as it becomes lighter. Then the evaporating water moving upward is condensed into clouds as it comes into contact with colder atmosphere. Subsequently, the clouds containing water become heavy and are pulled towards the earth by gravitational force. Moisture in the clouds is then transformed into water and they are precipitated as raindrops as the atmosphere becomes denser and colder.
