The Capseller and the Monkeys (Story Writing) : This Story is very important for Madhyamik Students.
There lived a cap seller in a village. He earned by selling caps. On a hot day when he was coming back from selling his caps, he became tired and hungry. He took shelter under a tree. He kept his bag/basket (ঝুড়ি) full of caps beside him and very soon he fell asleep. On that tree some monkeys lived. They saw the cap seller wearing a cap on his head. They came down from the tree and each of them took a cap and climbed up the tree. The cap seller woke up and saw that his bag was empty. He became very upset and shed tears. He started to look for his caps here and there. But found nowhere.
At last he heard (শুনতে পেল) a noise (শব্দ) from the tree and looked up. The cap seller saw the monkeys with his caps on the branches of the tree. He was surprised to see each monkey wearing a cap on his head. He tried various ways to get his caps back. But he failed. He hit upon a plan.
He threw stones at them but in vain. Suddenly an Idea (ধারণা) occurred to him (তার মাথায় এল). He knew that monkeys are imitative (অনুকরণশীল) by nature. So, he removed (খুলে ফেললো) the cap from his head and threw it away on the ground. Imitating him the monkeys also threw down the caps from their heads. the capseller quickly picked up his caps and went away. (The Capseller and the Monkeys)
